Nope that is a fallacy ),you are free to have as many Domain Controllers as you like,I myself am replicating to at least 2 others at all my SBS sites. I have a call in to Symantec, and they are calling me back "within 2 hours", but I would really like to get home sometime before that.
I'm not sure if either of those groups have that right by default. Although I know it's a member of that group, I can't give it Log on as batch job, since the local security policy is disabled. The error tells me that the account should have the "log on as batch job" and be part of the backup operators group. When I run the restore, it fails with "e0000383 - Failed to Log on to Microsoft Windows". I've set all of the backup services to start using the local system account, and I've even created an account that's part of the local administrators group, and the backup operators group. I have a backup I did just today, and I've restarted the server in Active Directory Restore Mode. I'm trying to restore the System State to the only domain controller using backup Exec 2012.
